LifeSciHub, the online resource community marketplace designed for life sciences R&D, today announced plans to launch an industry-wide survey to better understand current engagement practices and trends occurring among R&D ecosystem hiring teams and
The survey, which will launch on October 25, 2018, is designed to collect feedback from hiring managers, HR professionals, and independent consultants operating in the life sciences research and development space. S. Jewels, cofounder and CEO of LifeSciHub commented, “In our market research, we are seeing drastically different resourcing strategies being employed to adequately support the complex R&D lifecycle. We hope to leverage the survey to better understand the impact of evolving gig economy practices within this space.”
An NPR/Marist poll finds that 1 in 5 jobs in America is held by a worker under contract. Within a decade, contractors and freelancers could make up half of the American workforce.[1] As the use of online marketplaces to facilitate access and management of contingency working arrangements become more pervasive in other industries, LifeSciHub will be tracking the impact these disruptive innovations have. “We see life sciences R&D as being perfectly positioned to take advantage of the gig economy to engage skilled resources from a much broader talent pool of independent consultants. We have seen other industries thrive on this model and believe that much can be gained by all stakeholders by contextualizing an online marketplace for the highly-specific needs of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries”, noted S. Jewels.
Hiring managers, Human Resources and Procurement professionals, and independent consultants who work in research and development within the life sciences industry are encouraged to take the brief survey. Interested parties can sign up to receive the survey here: https://lifescihub.com/survey-form/
Survey participants have the option to receive the summary results once they are compiled.
