Want to meet people from all over North America? Join us on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. EDT / 2:00 p.m. PDT during the BIO Digital 2021 Convention and join in the conversation! This event will give you an opportunity to meet like-minded people, discussing women’s health triumphs and challenges. We will be using the Zoom platform where participants will be given 10 minutes to discuss, in a small group environment, a conversation starter pertaining to Women’s Health, which is the theme of WIB’s Plenary event on Monday, June 14, 2021. We will come back together and then be moved to a new group with a new topic. There will be surprises along the way, so don’t miss out!

Event Hosts
Lisa is the Executive Director for the national non-profit, Women In Bio (WIB), engaging, educating, and empowering all women in the life sciences, from the classroom to the boardroom. She manages the efforts of her staff and over 400 volunteer leaders across North America, to achieve our mission to move the needle on diversity and inclusion within the life sciences and beyond.
She is a leadership expert who delivers with high-energy, the goals of the organization. Challenging WIB members and supporters to leverage their focus and pay attention to what matters most…equity and inclusion.
Lisa earned her BS from Purdue University and her Certification from the Center For Women’s Entrepreneurship at Chatham University. She has received numerous awards for her efforts in both academia and industry. Her strong background in entrepreneurship, business development, and managing multifunctional teams, makes her the perfect fit to head up WIB’s efforts.
Jessica is the Director of PantherlabWorks with the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence at the University of Pittsburgh. Jessica assists entrepreneurs in innovation and product commercialization from concept development through prototyping and manufacturing. She also is a conduit for entrepreneurs and small business owners in finding funding opportunities, developing pricing strategies, and completing market analyses utilizing my past industrial experience.
She is a graduate of Gannon University undergraduate and achieved a master’s degree from the University of Maryland, both in chemistry. She has also recently been a part of certificate programs at the LUMA Institute and Yale University.
Jessica is the WIB National Special Event Co-Vice Chair and a member of WIB-Pittsburgh where she is a Mentor.
Shruti is a Research Program Manager – ICBI at Georgetown University. In her role as a researcher and program manager, she closely collaborates with biostatisticians, software developers, natural language processing experts, genomic scientists, and clinicians to develop software tools to help with hypothesis generation and decision-making in clinical research. Shruti has worked on clinical genomics projects involving the development of standards to analyze and determine the clinical significance of genomic data for cancer precision medicine.
Shruti is the WIB National Special Event Co-Vice Chair and a member of the WIB-Capital Region.
